Erik ten Hag has urged his players to prove they deserve to play for Manchester United after losing 3-0 to Sevilla in the Europa League.

The Red Devils were forced into the Europa League quarter-finals. After goals from Youssef N-Nasiri (two) and Loic Bade secured the Spanish club victory.

It meant Sevilla qualified 5-2 on aggregate and ended United’s hopes of winning a European trophy in Ten Hag’s first year.

It was a performance that shocked many United fans. Especially those who blamed Harry Maguire and David de Gea for their mistakes that cost the team a goal.

Reflecting on the match, Ten Hag has challenged his players ahead of Sunday’s game against Brighton. And admitted they are all playing for their own futures at the club.

At a press conference ahead of the FA Cup semi-final against Brighton at Wembley Stadium, Ten Hag said: “I think we are always playing for our future as professional players UFABET

“The good thing is that Sunday will be a big occasion. The FA Cup semi-finals are better than you can imagine. After that there are still many good games to come, we have to prove it. And this group of players has to prove it.”
