Arteta reveals Xhaca stays after Roma deal collapses. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed Granit Xhaka will stay at the club.
Arsenal were originally ready to sell Xhaka this summer, with Roma as favorites and a personal contract has been agreed. But the two clubs were unable to agree on a fee after “Yellow-Red Wolves” offer only 12 million euros, plus 3 euros in bonuses.
Xhaka had to return to report to Arsenal in pre-season. And recently went into the field with a goal with a warm-up game “The Mind Series” that Arsenal lost 1-2 at home to Chelsea on Sunday.
After the game, Mikel Arteta spoke about the future of the Switzerland midfielder who played outstandingly at Euro 2020: “Granit Xhaka will stay with us. He is an important member of our team.”
Meanwhile, “Cannon” is preparing to extend the 28-year-old’s contract until 2025 with an increase in wages. Replaces the current contract that runs until 2023.
